The exhibition Heart & Mind featured five major Australian artists from the TarraWarra Museum of Art collection: Jan Senbergs, Rick Amor, Jenny Watson, Melinda Harper and William Kelly.
Each artist was asked to curate an independent exhibition focusing on one of their own paintings in the TarraWarra Museum of Art collection. It was intended to explore the emotional and intellectual content of the artists' approach in their creating work. A text was prepared by each artist as self curator which provided their interpretation.
The exhibition also included works by other artists who have had a major influence on the individual artists' oeuvre in addition to memorabilia, books and objects.
Consequently, the overall exhibition was rich in a variety of medium and styles ranging from figurative to abstraction. It provided a different perspective for the viewer, a unique insight into the artists' understanding of that which influences both their heart and mind.
