John Nixon, EPW: POLYCHROME installation view

31 March 2007 - 11 May 2007

This large exhibition presented a new multi-coloured group of paintings from John Nixon’s Experimental Painting Workshop in 2007. The Polychrome paintings stem from Nixon’s use of colour in his earlier monochrome paintings, here using his signature orange colour with other colours. During 2006 Nixon had begun to work with the idea of colour-rhythm, an idea pertinent to the Italian Futurists. John Nixon continues to develop and extend abstraction through the EPW in new and exciting ways. The exhibition included over 100 recent works.
