Construction at TarraWarra

We have embarked on a very exciting new building project: the Eva and Marc Besen Centre.

This purpose-built centre, designed by Kerstin Thompson Architects together with landscaping by OCULUS, will be located on the site of the Museum’s upper carpark and will open to the public this summer.

The Eva and Marc Besen Centre will be a dedicated place of learning and creative inspiration for all ages and will showcase our wonderful permanent collection by providing year-round visible access to more than 300 stored artworks.  The Museum will continue to operate during the building works.

While we will experience some disruptions to the whole site, we aim to make your visit to the Museum as simple and pleasant as possible.

Changed parking conditions

We are still open and easy to access. Please park in the lower carpark accessed via the compact gravel driveway when you enter the estate. Our courtesy van will be operating for your convenience if you require assistance to travel from the carpark up to the Museum. Or you can take in the surrounds through a leisurely stroll of the grounds to our doors. Due to construction the upper carpark is currently CLOSED.

The courtesy van runs regularly on weekends and is available during the week by calling 5957 3100 upon arrival.

Access for people with disabilities

Two disabled parking bays are available in the lower carpark. Visitors can travel from the carpark up to the Museum with our courtesy van.

There are an additional two disabled parking bays adjacent to the TarraWarra Estate office via the winery road. These bays are best suited for wheelchair and walker access and are located approximately 200m from our doors along a guided pathway.

Visitors requiring wheelchair or mobility walker access are advised to call ahead so that we can personally organise access to the Museum. Call 5957 3100 for any further information and transport requirements.

Parents with prams are advised to walk up the winery road after parking in the lower carpark, for best pram-friendly access.

These parking conditions are temporary until the Eva and Marc Besen Centre opens in 2025.

Buses and Groups

All buses and coaches must park in the lower carpark.  Please note there is no access for buses or coaches to drive or park in any driveways.

If you are traveling with a group, please allow time to walk or travel in our 11 seat courtesy bus to access TarraWarra Museum of Art.

Construction noise will be managed and controlled as per regulations; however, our guests are advised that external noise, vibration and dust will be noticeable over the  summer months 7.30am – 3.30pm Monday to Saturday.

Please book exhibition tours online and call 5957 3100 for any further information or enquiries.
